Logos

BarkBound

Brief

BarkBound is a wag-worthy doggie daycare. They came to me wanting a vibrant and exciting logo for the franchise they wanted to launch. They are the premier home away from home for your dog. They prioritize your pet’s health and happiness over everything else while creating a simple, convenient
experience for pet owners. Their founding members include a veterinarian and
pet care experts, who built a program focused on the exercise,
socialization, and enrichment – vital to a dog’s well-being.

Competition

I have all my clients complete a discovery questionaaire so I can learn about their mission, values, competitive differences, industry, services and goals.

Logo Activity

In my logo activity I ask my clients to find 5 logos they love and connect with from a business perspective and tell me why then I ask them the same for logos they dislike. We also go over personality and tones with a word game.

Interior Moodboard

Doggie daycare facility inspiration.

Research

I wanted to look at other dog daycares, apps, brands and pet insurance logos throughout the nation for reference and inspiration.

Inspiration

Time to get inspired and look at happy dogs and line art.

Round 1 sketches

Now to take everything I learned, discovered and was inspired by and hit the sketchbook.

Round 2 Digital phase

The client selected some sketches and items in my process to bring to the next phase. This first design phase I keep as black and white so color doesn’t influence the selection. The client is given symbol and font options. To help them visualize their brand, I applied it to an app and marketing collateral.

Exploration

We collaborated to create more options.

Round 3 color

We took direction from the client and shared our color ideas.

Color Refinements

BarkBound wanted to make sure they differentiated themselves from their leading competition – Dogtopia.

Final Solution

Brilliant red and punchy green. I like giving the client tri-tones for all different use cases.
